My Favorite Social Spots

Social Networking Sites For Business

I have decided to rate these sites from 1-5, 1 being the worst and 5 being the best.

I was going to add descriptions, but it would get too crowded here on the sidebar.

So, I'll be doing posts at The Web 2.0 Official Blueprint Blog on the various social networking sites listsed here.

Hint: The ability to add lots of links ups the ranking, hoever, lack of "socializing" lowers the ranking. This is where the 2-3 range usually comes in.

Win Zip

The first thing you'll need is Win Zip in order to open most of the downloaded files and applications you'll need. You can get a free 45 day trial at www.WinZip.com. I would suggest that you get the full version after the trial if you're planning on continuing your Internet marketing career.

FTP Clients

An FTP client is used to upload pages to a website or files (that you may want to give away as free incentives to sign up for your newsletter, for example).

Places To Put Several (Or Many) Different Social Media Profiles On One Spot.

There are aggregators (like I Google and Netvibes) and then there are places that are more like social networks or social bookmarks (Pownce & Diigo) where you can add several or many of your web 2.0 profiles and usernames and keep everything in a nice little box.

File Sharing

If you collaborate with anyone else or if you teach, or plan on teaching others, you may want to check out a free file sharing service. They allow you to upload and store files and then choose which you want to share or not. I guess it could also be a good way to clean out your document folders.

Just don't upload things that you paid for from other people and give them away for free. This is file sharing, not torrent sites.

Zoho Docs ~ I really love this site. It's almost just like Microsoft Office only it's free and you can share your documents, spreadsheets, etc. online.

Google Docs ~ Similar to the above only owned by Google.

Box.net ~ Upload, share, and collaborate files with 1G free storage.
